Memphis, TN 38103Grant's Gala was created to honor the memory Grant Michael Goughnour who was born on August 5th, 2002 with an undiagnosed congenital heart defect and passed away suddenly seventeen days after his birth.
The Children's Heart Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) organization, is dedicated to funding the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment and preventions of congenital heart defects - America's number one birth defect! Nearly one out of every 100 births, or 40,000 babies each year will be born with a congenital heart defect (CHD.) More than half of all children born with a CHD will require at least one invasive surgery during their lifetime. Sadly, 20 percent of these children will not live to celebrate their first birthday.
